bullsbrook community information

From the Developers
Okeland are developing the new 2500 lot urban subdivision to be known as Kingsford in Bullsbrook.
Their website is
www.okeland.com.au/kingsford/
In response to communit
y concerns about the developer's removal of mature eucalypts on Chittering Road, Okeland have provided this link to FAQ page. https://www.okeland.com.au/contact-us/faqs
In particular this about the trees.
Q.           Why have trees been removed along Chittering Road?
A.           To facilitate the future roundabout at Maroubra Avenue as required by the City of Swan and the Western Australian Planning Commission, a number of trees were unfortunately required to be removed at that location. The remaining trees along Chittering Road fronting Kingsford Estate will be retained and integrated into the design of the future dual use path and landscaping.

Some of the fallen trees have been donated to be turned into nature play with the Bullsbrook College and the others will be reused within Kingsford in future parks which also includes a significant number of mature trees soon to be planted as part of key landscaping works.

Snake season has rolled around again.
Here's a list of local snake relocators
When you call please watch the snake if safe to do so as every moment helps us to find the snake faster and keep everyone safe.
Remove animals and children from the area.
We don't charge for relocations but a donation towards fuel is always appreciated.
Cheers.

What to do if you find an injured animal
The immediate basic needs of injured/orphaned wildlife are:
  • SECURE CONTAINMENT TO PREVENT FURTHER INJURY
  • WARMTH
  • QUIET
  • DARK
  • NO FOOD OR DRINK
Please refrain from taking any photographs as some rescuers do. The welfare of the animal is priority and it is very important to keep it in the dark and quiet. Facebook can wait until they are settled into their new surroundings.
Always check for danger around you. If you are worried about picking up the animal get someone to help you.
Use a towel or similar to place over the animal and gently pick it up. Always be careful of teeth, claws and beaks etc. when approaching and handling.
Place into an appropriately sized ventilated box.
Keep the animal WARM, this is very important, especially for orphaned joeys. Keep the animal in the DARK and in a QUIET place.
This reduces stress levels and makes transportation easier. Also have as little contact as possible with the animal. Echidnas do NOT require extra warmth.
If it's a large kangaroo please call for help immediately.
Do not offer food or water unless advised to do so by a rehabilitator.
Remember your own safety as well as the animals.
