Council Candidates Forum
Thank you to our 5 candidates who.attended our forum on 24/9. It provided the perfect opportunity to get to know more about each of the councillors, what they understand about our community and their plans should they get elected. Each candidate was given the opportunity to speak about themselves for 5 minutes and then the forum was opened for questions from the floor. It was surprising how scant and inaccurate some of the new candidate's knowledge and understanding of the Bullsbrook community is. The behaviour of one new candidate in particular was surprising and disappointing, speaking over people, making personal attacks on current candidates and ignoring the facilitator. Not at all how one would want oné's representative to ever behave! Letter to BRRA re Forum
.Dear Anne I attended the meet your Pearce councillors meeting at Ethel Warren during the week. Sorry for turning up late but I had another community commitment which i had to attend. I just wanted to apologise for the way the community members were shouted at, spoken down to by a potential female candidate. I was very uncomfortable at the meeting as I could see how upset the Bullsbrook residents were during and after the meeting. The lady sitting next to me was almost in tears. I have never witnessed such poor behaviour towards a community. I am used to civil conversation and treating everyone with the respect they deserve. I look forward to working with you and the Bullsbrook residents as we do now going forward. I am not up for election so this email isn’t an election ploy Kind regards Patty Jones |
